Richard Hagar, SRA is founder and President of American Home Appraisals. He is:

  •  A licensed real estate agent since 1976
  • Certified real estate appraiser since 1986
  • An SRA with the Appraisal Institute
  • One of the more senior appraisers in the State
  • A major focus of his practice is providing appraisals and consulting services to the legal industry.
  • He’s qualified as an expert witness in Washington and Colorado _(Federal Court)_
  • Provided consultation to clients appearing before the State of Washington Supreme Court.
  • Mr. Hagar creates and provides classes for Attorneys, Appraisers, Agents, and Mortgage Brokers.
  • He helped write the laws that govern the mortgage industry (RCW 19.146 & RCW 18.310) and
  • Has a very popular class on:  Real Estate: Agent, Appraiser, and Mortgage Fraud
  • The class is the first in the nation to be approved for all real estate professionals.

  • He helped write the Mortgage Brokers Practices Act (RCW 19.146) which has become the model for license laws in 11 other states
  • He developed and regularly teaches the popular class:

  • (The class is the first in the nation to be approved for all real estate professionals)
  • On a weekly, if not daily basis he’s asked lie to lenders – commit fraud. Clients ask him to guarantee minimum values or hide facts, neither of which are legal under State and Federal laws.
  • Performed an external review of a lender recently driven into bankruptcy due to fraudulent real estate transactions and appraisals.
  • •He has multi-faceted knowledge concerning one of Washington’s largest mortgage fraud cases. The case involved every know type of fraud, perpetrated by a real estate agent, numerous appraisers and loan officers.
  • Mortgage insiders and appraisers hire him to educate their staff in spotting mortgage fraud.
  • His goal is to educate people, help them understand what is right and wrong, stay out of jail, and contribute to the solution.
